I’m the 4th great-grandson of David Litz (1764-1814).

At 13, David served as a private in the Ulster County NY Militia, and was probably called out during the British raid that burned the city of Kingston, NY in October 1777. David’s father Roelif, uncles, and brothers all served in Revolutionary war units.

David later served as Ensign in the Northampton , PA Militia before moving to Litz Bridge, near Blue Ball PA; where he was the first man to float logs down Clearfield Creek.
